Darlington County EMS: 14-week EMT-Basic class as On-the-Job training

Darlington County EMS will be conducting an accelerated 14-week EMT-Basic class as On-the-Job training for selected candidates.  Selected candidates will have all associated tuition expenses paid for through the Apprentice Carolina program.  Students will be full time employees of Darlington County EMS as an EMT-Trainee with classroom wages, a 24/72 schedule rotation working in the field as a crew member on an ambulance, and full benefits.

Darlington County EMS is seeking highly motivated, driven, and dedicated candidates interested in joining the exciting and rewarding field of pre-hospital emergency medical services.  Emergency medical services is a rapidly evolving industry that offers competitive wages and benefits to individuals interested in making pre-hospital care their chosen career.  EMS is uniquely positioned to provide candidates with experience in the areas of both public safety and healthcare.  Obtaining your EMT certification is the first step in starting your EMS journey.

This class will be conducted in partnership with Florence-Darlington Technical College’s continuing education department.

Requirements    

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a high-school diploma or GED
  • Have a valid SC driver’s license
  • Follow the prescribed application/selection/hiring process
